Capacities and inverter ratings come from manufacturer datasheets. Choose the first option to type your own figures.
Usable capacity is defined in the Rule as 90% of nameplate. Nameplate entries convert automatically.
Filled automatically from the selected product where the datasheet states an AC rating. Certificate capacity is capped at 4 hours × inverter output, and eligibility requires usable capacity of no more than 6 × inverter output.
Solar and pricing
Where new solar is installed with the battery it must be at least a quarter of the usable battery capacity. Auto mode tracks that minimum. Switch it off to enter your actual system size.

Estimates are indicative only and are not an offer. Figures are modelled under the Peak Demand Reduction Scheme Rule of 2022 (1 July 2026 consolidation, NSWGG-2026-260-2); activities BESS3, BESS4 and BESS5 commence 1 September 2026. Method: demand shifting component = capped battery capacity × coefficient; peak demand reduction capacity = shifting capacity × firmness factor (1.0) × 6 hours × 15 years; certificates = capacity × network loss factor × 10, rounded down (Equations 1 and 2b and Schedule C). Certificates are created across 15 annual compliance periods, not upfront. Usable battery capacity is taken as 90% of nominal (nameplate) capacity from manufacturer datasheets (EVO Power, Sungrow and Pixii datasheets on file, July 2026) as a proxy for the Scheme Administrator’s recorded values; for BESS5 the recording method is subject to IPART’s pending determination and recorded figures may differ. Certificate prices are market data, not part of the Rule, and move over time; the modelled price is shown in the calculator and can be changed. Gross values exclude any Accredited Certificate Provider margin; net figures depend on the provider’s quoted terms. The calculator models capacity, solar and inverter tests only. The Rule’s remaining conditions are confirmed at site assessment. Your final incentive is confirmed by a site assessment against certificate values and provider terms on the day of installation.
